Soak up the Summer Sun

Soak up the Summer Sun

As we move into summer, the days are getting longer which means our bodies are benefitting from those extra rays. What benefits?  Here are a few down below. Before heading outside, remember to enjoy sunlight safely by wearing sunscreen, protective clothing and sunglasses to prevent sunburn and reduce the risk of skin damage and skin cancer.

Vitamin D Production

Sunlight is a natural source of vitamin D, which is essential for bone health, immune function and overall well-being. During the summer when the days are longer and the sun is stronger, our bodies have more opportunity to produce vitamin D. Jubilee features an “Exploration Zone” where you can connect with nature and bask in the sunshine.

Improved Mood

Exposure to sunlight triggers the release of serotonin, a neurotransmitter that contributes to feelings of happiness and well-being. Increased sunlight during the summer can help alleviate symptoms of seasonal affective disorder (SAD) and improve overall mood and energy levels. You can combine sunlight with mindfulness at our “Reflection Zone”where you can engage in outdoor yoga or relax by the lake.

Regulated Circadian Rhythm

Sunlight plays a crucial role in regulating our circadian rhythm, or internal body clock. Increased exposure to sunlight during the longer days of summer can help maintain a healthy sleep-wake cycle, leading to better sleep quality and overall health.

Enhanced Productivity and Focus

Natural sunlight has been shown to boost productivity and concentration. In workplaces with ample natural light, employees tend to be more alert, focused and productive. Increased sunlight during the summer can help create a more conducive environment for work and study. Homes in Jubilee feature lots of oversized windows so you can soak up sunlight no matter what room you’re in.

Promotes Physical Activity

Longer daylight hours and warmer weather during the summer encourage outdoor activities and exercise. Whether it's going for a walk, bike ride or participating in outdoor sports, sunlight provides the motivation and energy to stay active and maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Natural Source of Energy

Sunlight is a natural source of energy that powers the Earth's ecosystems. Increased sunlight during the summer months supports plant growth, which in turn sustains food chains and biodiversity.

At Jubilee we understand that people are powered by the sun, and we want you to be able to get as much of it as possible. That’s why we have planned amenities that get you outside and enjoying life! Swim, play sports, traverse our trails — they are all great ways to worship the sun and they are all at Jubilee.
